Scope:
The postgenomic era (as it is often called) aims at an increasing
understanding of the complex biochemical network which is present
in each cell, rather than at studying individual functions of specific
enzymes
and specific genes. This is a very ambitious goal. The research field integrating
experimental and computational approaches to achieve this goal is called
systems biology. Like its predecessors the 3rd Workshop on
Computation of
Biochemical Pathways and Genetic Networks focused on the current
state of computational methodology in this research field at different
levels of abstraction.
Sessions:
- Complexity reduction of biochemical networks
- Genetic networks
- Simulation methodology
- Analysis of the dynamics of biochemical processes
Invited Speakers:
- Petter Holme, Copenhagen, Denmark
- Stefan Hoops, Blacksburg, VA, USA
- Markus Kirkilionis, Warwick, England
- Marko Marhl, Maribor, Slovenia
- Alberto Policriti, Udine, Italy
- Marc Roussel, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
- Igor Schreiber, Prague, Czech Republic
- Jrg Stelling, Magdeburg, Germany
- Adelinde Uhrmacher, Rostock, Germany
- Olaf Wolkenhauer, Rostock, Germany
- Blaz Zupan, Ljubljana, Slovenia
